SEK Announces Senior Staff Promotions

SEK is pleased to announce the following promotions effective January 1, 2021.

Camp Hill, PA Office:

Benjamin L. Hursh, CPA promoted to Senior Associate: Ben primarily focuses on providing tax compliance and planning services to small businesses and individuals. In addition to his client responsibilities, he serves as Treasurer for Harrisburg Area Performing Arts Center and is a member of SEK’s Emerging Professionals Committee. Ben earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Shippensburg University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He joined the firm in 2018.

Carlisle, PA Office:

Deirdre M. Korkes promoted to Senior Associate: Deirdre prepares business, individual, and information tax returns for clients. In addition to her client responsibilities, she is a member of SEK’s Emerging Professionals Committee. Deirdre earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Towson University and joined the firm in 2019. She is actively working on earning her CPA certification.

Jodie N. Meglio promoted to Senior Associate: Jodie works on nonprofit, governmental, healthcare, and affordable housing audits. He graduated from Shippensburg University magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting. Jodie joined SEK in 2019. He has since earned a graduate certificate in Advanced Supply Chain & Logistics Management from Shippensburg University.

Chambersburg, PA Office:

Jordan P. Hurrell, MAcc promoted to Senior Associate: Jordan specializes in providing audit services to governments, nonprofits, and financial institutions. In addition to his client responsibilities, he is a member of SEK’s Emerging Professionals Committee. Jordan graduated summa cum laude from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting, and Personal Financial Planning and earned a Master of Accounting degree from Pennsylvania State University. He joined the firm in 2018 and is currently working toward his CPA certification.

Hagerstown, MD Office:

Cara A. Lowery promoted to Senior Associate: Cara primarily provides tax services to small business and individual clients. She is working on gaining a deeper understanding of taxations for pass through entities. In addition to her client responsibilities, she is a member of the firm’s Emerging Professionals Committee. Cara has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Shepherd University and joined SEK in 2017. She was recently notified that she passed all four parts of the CPA exam and is in the process of applying for her license.

York, PA Office:

Aaron J. Althouse, CPA promoted to Senior Associate: Aaron works with individual and small business tax clients with a focus on the construction industry. Aaron earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from York College of Pennsylvania and joined SEK in 2019.
