SEK Announces Mid-Year Promotions

SEK, CPAs & Advisors is pleased to announce the following team member promotions effective July 1, 2022:

Cara A. Lowery, CPA, promoted to Supervisor: Cara primarily provides tax services to small business and individual clients. She is working on gaining a deeper understanding of taxations for pass-through entities. In addition to her client responsibilities, she is a member of the firm’s Emerging Professionals Committee. Cara has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Shepherd University. She joined SEK in 2017 and is based in the Hagerstown, MD office. Outside of the office, Cara likes to be outdoors, kayak, and spend time with her family. She enjoys sports and traveling to new places.

Michael P. McCartney, CPA, MBA, promoted to Supervisor: Mike provides tax and accounting services to individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master in Business Administration degree from Shippensburg University. Mike joined SEK in 2019 and is based in the Hagerstown, MD office. Outside of work, he enjoys playing baseball, basketball, soccer, and doing anything outdoors.

Eliza N. Ogasawara, CPA, promoted to Supervisor: Eliza primarily focuses on governmental, nonprofit, and school district audit clients, as well as 990 preparation and review. She has over nine years of experience in accounting, with seven years in public accounting and two years as a financial analyst in the private sector. Eliza has a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Accounting and a Japanese minor from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. She joined SEK in 2020 and works remotely from Texas. Outside of accounting, Eliza is a 500-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher and volunteers with the Animal Justice League in Houston.

Stephen J. Wishard, CPA, promoted to Supervisor: Stephen provides tax compliance and tax planning services to closely-held businesses and individuals. In addition to his client responsibilities, he is a member of the firm’s Emerging Professionals Committee. Stephen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Elizabethtown College. He joined SEK in 2016 and is based in the Hanover, PA office. Outside of work, Stephen enjoys watching the Ravens & Orioles, going to the gym, golfing, and relaxing at the beach or pool.
