SEK Announces Manager and Controller Promotions

The Members of SEK are pleased to announce the following Manager and Controller promotions effective January 1, 2022:

Taylor M. Rote, CPA promoted to Manager: Taylor has over six years of experience and works on 30 local government audits each year, focusing on townships, boroughs, municipal authorities, parks and recreation authorities, and school districts. Taylor is involved in the audit process from start to finish, including planning and risk assessments, testing and drafting of financial reports, and ensuring completion of the audit to meet client expectations in both timing and quality. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master’s in Accountancy. Taylor joined SEK in 2018 and is based in the firm’s Chambersburg, PA office. She is a graduate of Leadership Franklin County’s Class of 2020.

 

Jill L. Bachtell promoted to Client Relationship Manager: With over 13 years of experience, Jill specializes in employee benefit plan audits, ensuring they are completed in compliance with the plan document and regulatory requirements. She also performs manufacturing industry audits. Jill is responsible for planning and organizing client engagements, performing risk assessments, preparing and analyzing financial statements, evaluating internal controls, and fostering strong client relationships. She graduated summa cum laude from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Jill joined SEK in 2008 and is based in the firm’s Hagerstown, MD office.

 

Tyler L. Clugston promoted to Client Relationship Manager: With over 13 years of experience, Tyler specializes in working with closely-held businesses. He provides tax preparation, financial statement preparation, tax planning, general business consulting, outsourced CFO, and payroll services. Tyler is currently working on his Enrolled Agent (EA) designation. He graduated summa cum laude from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Tyler joined SEK in 2014 and is based in the firm’s Hagerstown, MD office.

 

 

Jaimie S. Kaufman, EA promoted to Client Relationship Manager: Jaimie has over 12 years of experience providing tax and accounting services to small business clients. She assists clients with QuickBooks Online and Desktop training and consulting, payroll, bookkeeping, financial statements, and tax returns. Jaimie is a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor in Online and Desktop. She graduated from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems. Jaimie joined SEK in 2009 and is based in the firm’s Carlisle, PA office.

 

Ruth J. Kurtz, EA promoted to Client Relationship Manager: With more than 28 years of accounting experience, Ruth provides tax planning and preparation services to a variety of closely-held businesses, specializing in the construction industry. She also provides outsourced Controller services to clients. Ruth graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She joined SEK in 2016 and is based in the firm’s Camp Hill, PA office. Outside of the office, Ruth serves as the Treasurer for the West Shore CPA Group.

 

 

Brooke A. Murphy, EA promoted to Client Relationship Manager: With over 18 years of experience, Brooke provides tax and QuickBooks consulting services to her clients. She specializes in working with individuals and closely-held businesses. Brooke is a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor in Online and Desktop. She graduated from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Brooke joined SEK in 2005 and is based in the firm’s Carlisle, PA office. Outside of the office, she serves as Board Member, Treasurer, and Volunteer with Leadership Cumberland and as a Social Member of Monroe Fire Company.

 

Jennifer G. Yeatts promoted to Client Relationship Manager: Jennifer has over 11 years of experience and specializes in audit and accounting services to nonprofit organizations, local government entities, and employee benefit plans. She is involved in the audit process from start to finish, including planning and risk assessments, testing and drafting of financial reports, and ensuring completion of the audit to meet client expectations in both timing and quality. Jennifer is one of the leaders of the firm’s annual TTM-1 training for new hires. She graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Jennifer joined SEK in 2010 and is based in the firm’s Hanover, PA office. Outside of the office, she serves as an Annual Gala Volunteer with Sweet Charities and as a Member of the Hanover Area Young Professionals.

 

Stacey L. Webster promoted to Controller: With more than 16 years of experience, Stacey assists the firm with customer service and accounting tasks. She performs accounting, payroll, and administrative duties for the firm, including Practice management assistance. Stacey is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants. She joined SEK in 2005 and is based in the firm’s Administrative office in Hagerstown, MD.
